What Does God Say to You?

We Can Begin Again

Episode Summary

In this episode of What Does God Say To You, Kathy reflects on falling short of her plans and the grace of beginning again. She shares how fear had taken the lead in her life recently, and how despite good intentions, things didn’t go as planned. But God's mercies are new every morning, and we don’t have to start over—we just begin again, right where we are. Kathy reminds us that we hold the winning hand when we don’t fold, and even when we feel far from the mark, consistency and surrender to God bring change. Scripture from Galatians 6:9 and Romans 7:15–21 encourages us that we’re not alone in the struggle. This is a real, honest word for anyone who’s tired, weary, or needing to reset.

0:00 Hey, my name is Kathy, and this is the What Does God Say To You podcast. If you listen to the last episode, you know I was pretty transparent. 0:10 I shared how I've been running away from what I was supposed to be doing and how fear I had been leading the way, not chase. 0:19 I also said, I planned to do two episodes that month and put it first in my week, and that didn't happen. 0:27 Here we are again, one episode, and at the end of the month and the last day of the month. So, what do we do? 0:37 We begin again. We don't ever go back to start. What we do is we begin exactly where we are. His word says that his mercies are fresh every morning. 0:48 So today, I'll accept his grace, I'll confess my sin, and I'll thank him for his forgiveness. You know, we hold the winning hand. 0:59 The devil is a very good bluffer, but he has the losing hand. If we don't fold, we can't lose. The verse in Galatians chapter 6 verse 9, Be not weary and well-doing. 1:16 Grit and do season, we shall reap. that tells me that there are times while we are on the road to well-doing that we get weary. 1:25 If we didn't, we wouldn't tell us not to, even if our well-doing is far from the mark. If we throw the dart, it will hit the dart board. 1:36 Roman 715 Paul said, for that which I do, I allow not, for what I would, that do I not, but what I hate that I do. 1:48 If then I do that, which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then, it is no more eye that do it but sin that dwells in me. 2:00 I know that in me, that is in my flesh, there is no good thing, where to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good, I find not for the good that I would. 2:13 but I do not, but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that, I would not. 2:21 It is no more I that do it. Let's sin that dwells in me. So I'm gonna end it there with the understanding that there's nothing new under the sun, we're in good company. 2:35 Do I wanna stay here trying and just barely doing? Absolutely not, I don't, but I'll still show up even when it's far from the mark. 2:47 It is in the consistency where any change is seen, so we just have to be consistent. And I ask him for wisdom, there's so much I need to do and know and learn and change. 2:59 When is it ever going to be not that case? This time I'm just going to have to sit back, ask him to forgive me, be with you, and expect that there's something that you need for giving for and we begin again because this mercies refresh every morning and to be in with me this is the What just got said 3:20 to you podcast. See you next time.
