What Does God Say to You?

Long Life and Peace - Proverbs 3:1-10

Episode Summary

There are many (not so) hidden clues in Proverbs chapter 3. It starts out by letting us know that there are promises to be found when God's Word is applied in our lives. Not in the "You do good and you'll get something" but in understanding how God's Word works. This chapter of The Bible is what convinced me that I could be cured of a car crash that was incurable. What I've learned moving ahead with this has truly been a revelation.

Episode Notes

0:00 Hello, and welcome to our very first podcast. This is "What Does God Say to You?"  where we put aside the things that we say to ourselves based on what it is that we have learned through our experience.

0:15 And we hold true to what God says instead. So we will contradict any negatives that we say or anything that is contrary to the word of God that comes into our hearts and into our minds.

0:30 And we will counter it with the word of God. What does God say to you? That's what we want to hold on to and believe.

0:40 So for the very first podcast, I'm going to read Proverbs chapter three, and we're going to break it apart a little bit.

0:50 Okay? So the very first verse, it says, my son, forget not my law, but let the heart keep my commandments.

1:02 Now, the next verse is why, why should I do that? Why should I not forget your law? Why should I let my heart keep your commandments?

1:15 Because in verse two lengthen of days long life and peace. Shall they add to you? Now? This is where I first started to really dig into the word of God to find the help that I was looking for to live a better life.

1:35 When I read this, I was, surprised and it made me realize that there are a lot of answers in here that we need to dig out.

1:46 So here we go, ready? Length of days and long life and peace shall they add to you? So who doesn't want enough time in the day, who doesn't want a long life, and who doesn't want peace?

2:00 We all do. In verse three, let not mercy and truth for sake thee. Bind them about the neck. Write them upon the table of thine heart.

2:15 This is, we want mercy and we want truth. The word of God is truth, and we want to live it.

2:23 We can't live what we don't know, right? Verse four: And then why, why do we want this verse four? So shall doubt find favor and good understanding in the sight of God, man.

2:40 So why do we want mercy and truth? Why did we want to remember God's law and live it? Well here it says because we'll have favor and good understanding in the sight of not only God but man, verse five Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean, not unto your own understanding in all your ways, acknowledge him.

3:11 And he shall direct thy paths. This is a big, big understanding. This is a big piece of revelation right here. So much hinges.on this knowledge right here,

3:21 trust in the Lord with all your heart. So with all of your being trust God, don't lean unto your own understanding.

3:38 Don't lean to what we think we know in all of our ways... and how many of our ways? In all of our ways, well, what if somebody does something really jerky to us?

3:51 Well then in that case, I should do something about it, right? Well, no, what if I'm totally right? Then I should do something about that.

4:01 Right? I can get mad about that, right? No, it says in all of those ways, acknowledge him, know him in all of your ways, know him.

4:15 How can we know him unless we know his word? Just like we can't know each other, unless we speak to each other, unless we have some form of communication.
